Workshop participants from the Harbin Engineering University presented the results of the projects they had been working on over the past two months. Two student teams showcased their outcomes, which were evaluated by a committee of researchers from the Faculty of Physics.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the students highlighted the value of the experience gained in our laboratory and expressed their interest in continuing future collaboration.

Professor Andrey Bogdanov and Nikolay Solodovchenko visited the acoustics laboratory led by Professor Yong Li at Tongji University. During the visit, Professor Bogdanov delivered a seminar for the laboratory's students.

Today in Dresden, the 52nd Annual Conference on Acoustics DAGA 2026 concluded its work. As part of the conference, Polina Medvedeva and Lana Glazko gave oral and poster presentations, presenting the results of their scientific research.

The Acoustic Metamaterials educational workshop for students of Harbin Engineering University officially commenced today. Participants attended the first lectures and began working on their assigned research projects.

Over the next two months, the students will carry out projects focused on sound absorption in porous materials and on bound states in the continuum (BICs) in acoustic waveguides.

At the end of the workshop, the participants will present the results of their work.

The workshop program was very informative and covered a wide range of topics. For two days, we heard lectures from leading Russian and international researchers in the field of architectural acoustics, as well as the latest solutions for creating sound-absorbing structures and using ultrasound in medical applications. We would like to extend our gratitude to all the participants and look forward to seeing you again at future events!

We invite students and postgraduates to an acoustic workshop, where both Russian and international scientists will talk about the latest research in the field of acoustics, specifically on the topics of acoustic metamaterials, acoustic forces, ultrasonic technologies, aeroacoustics and the theory of sound scattering.

The program will also include a special session for young scientists, where students and aspiring researchers will be able to share the results of their work in the format of short 10-minute reports.

With the support of the grant, it is planned to bring the laboratory to an international level within 5 years, as well as to create new devices based on acoustic metastructures for medical and industrial purposes, as well as for everyday use. Lean more: ITMO.NEWS
