On August 1, 2026, we visited the Institute of Acoustics at Tongji University as part of a research visit. During the visit, a one‑day workshop was held, where we discussed current projects and tasks and put forward new ideas and proposals. We also visited the laboratory at the Institute of Acoustics and got acquainted with the new equipment that had been installed there.

From July 22 to July 31, the international conference PIERS‑2026 was held in Suzhou, China. Our laboratory was represented by a number of oral presentations at the section organized with the participation of Professors Li Yong and Andrey Bogdanov.

Students from our laboratory, Mark Miroliubov, Iuliia Timankova, and Farid Bukmukhametov, received diplomas for the best presentations by young scientists at the All‑Russian Acoustic Conference, which was held in Nizhny Novgorod. We are proud of the students and look forward to their new achievements!

From June 22 to 26, the IV All‑Russian Acoustic Conference was held in Nizhny Novgorod, conjoined with the XXXVIII session of the Russian Scientific and Technical Acoustic Society. Our laboratory was represented by a number of oral and poster presentations.

A PhD student from our laboratory (joined PhD with New Uzbekistan University), Anatoly Tsiboulya, received a certificate for the best poster presentation at the “Waves‑2026” school-seminar! We congratulate Anatoly and wish him further success!

Workshop participants from the Harbin Engineering University presented the results of the projects they had been working on over the past two months. Two student teams showcased their outcomes, which were evaluated by a committee of researchers from the Faculty of Physics.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the students highlighted the value of the experience gained in our laboratory and expressed their interest in continuing future collaboration.

Professor Andrey Bogdanov and Nikolay Solodovchenko visited the acoustics laboratory led by Professor Yong Li at Tongji University. During the visit, Professor Bogdanov delivered a seminar for the laboratory's students.

Today in Dresden, the 52nd Annual Conference on Acoustics DAGA 2026 concluded its work. As part of the conference, Polina Medvedeva and Lana Glazko gave oral and poster presentations, presenting the results of their scientific research.

The Acoustic Metamaterials educational workshop for students of Harbin Engineering University officially commenced today. Participants attended the first lectures and began working on their assigned research projects.

Over the next two months, the students will carry out projects focused on sound absorption in porous materials and on bound states in the continuum (BICs) in acoustic waveguides.

At the end of the workshop, the participants will present the results of their work.

The workshop program was very informative and covered a wide range of topics. For two days, we heard lectures from leading Russian and international researchers in the field of architectural acoustics, as well as the latest solutions for creating sound-absorbing structures and using ultrasound in medical applications. We would like to extend our gratitude to all the participants and look forward to seeing you again at future events!

We invite students and postgraduates to an acoustic workshop, where both Russian and international scientists will talk about the latest research in the field of acoustics, specifically on the topics of acoustic metamaterials, acoustic forces, ultrasonic technologies, aeroacoustics and the theory of sound scattering.

The program will also include a special session for young scientists, where students and aspiring researchers will be able to share the results of their work in the format of short 10-minute reports.

With the support of the grant, it is planned to bring the laboratory to an international level within 5 years, as well as to create new devices based on acoustic metastructures for medical and industrial purposes, as well as for everyday use. Lean more: ITMO.NEWS
